Small 8vo, illustrated from photographs by Edward Steichen, original quarter blue morocco & cloth, separate print in folder, blue cloth slipcase. Fine copy. First edition with Updike's essay. A beautifully produced edition of Steichen's splendid series of photographs of simple objects and toys. One of 250 copies signed by Updike and Calderone, with an original photogravure bound in. The same image was included as a separate print in a folder in some copies; however, this copy, which came from Updike's library, does not include the separate print.

All books are first editions in their original unless otherwise noted. All items are offered subject to prior sale & must be prepaid unless credit has been established. All items have been carefully described, but any item may be returned within seven days of receipt for any reason, provided prior notification has been given. Shipping fees will not be refunded. Customers may use Visa, MasterCard or American Express. Payment from abroad may be made with credit card, international money order or a check drawn on a U. S. bank. Overseas orders will be sent air mail, insured, unless otherwise instructed. We ship by USPS, priority mail preferred, with signature confirmation. If you wish us to use UPS, please supply street address. Shipping and insurance are additional: $15.00 for the first book, $5.00 for each additional book. Connecticut residents must pay the appropriate sales tax. Libraries will be billed to suit their budgets.
