Toronto. William Collins Sons & Co. 1964. First Edition. Octavo (7 1/2 x 5 1/2). 279 pp. Signed by Roderick Haig-Brown on the half-title. Fisherman's Fall was published simultaneously in Canada and America on October 30, 1964. Fall is the most fully developed title in the Seasons series because Haig-Brown spent considerable time diving in the Campbell River, observing firsthand salmon and cutthroat trout in their natural environment. Several chapters in the book are based on his observations. There are also sections on steelhead fishing with the dry fly, salmon fishing, estuary fly fishing, concluding with chapters on ethics and additional underwater examinations. Harold Ober Associates, Haig-Brown's literary agent, reported sales of 2,774 copies of the book sold. The book is bound in yellow cloth with black titles on the spine. Pictorial dust jacket. The book is fine and bright in an equally near fine and bright dust jacket. This is finest example of this edition I've seen.
