New York. William Morrow & Company. 1954. First Edition. Octavo (8 x 5). 288 pp. Inscribed and signed by Haig-Brown on the half-title page "For the Harlows / Affectionately / Roderick Haig-Brown." The Harlows were Robert and his daughter Gretchen Harlow. Robert Harlow was the producer for a series of radio talks presented by Roderick in the 1950s, and his daughter, Gretchen, lived with the Haig-Browns in Campbell River for a year. Illustrated by Louis Darling. Fisherman's Winter is Haig-Brown's pioneering and intensely descriptive account of fly-fishing for trout in Chile and Argentina during the southern summer of December 1951 through March 1952. The book is bound in blue decorated cloth with black titles. Pictorial dust jacket. The book is very good with some uneven fading to the spine and edges, in a very good dust jacket with light edge wear.
