Near fine in a near fine dust jacket. The maroon cloth binding over white boards is tight and strong with bright gilt and square corners, but just slightly cocked. The boards are slightly edge-rubbed with a little grubbiness to the front. The contents are clean and bright. The only marking is an author's inscription reading "For Clare, Best Wishes, Stephen Jay Gould" The unclipped ($17.95) dust jacket is clean and complete with no tears or losses.
