HARDBACK - EARLY REPRINT - A fine book bound in the publisher's maroon cloth boards with gilt lettering to the spine. The boards are very clean boards indeed. Internally the inner text is clean and fresh with no signs of foxing to the inner text, with no toning to the closed text block. Free of any previous owner names or inscriptions. Inscribed by the author to the recipient and close friend Edwin Moore who was a senior non-fiction editor at Collins subsequently HarperCollins from 1986 until 2004. In 1995 he commissioned George MacDonald Fraser to write the introduction and author biographies for an omnibus edition of five adventure stories including King Solomon's Mines, The Prisoner of Zenda (which was the inspiration for Royal Flash), and The Lost World. The inscription reads TO EDWIN - / SALAAM'S AND ALL THE / BEST ! / GEORGE MACDONALD FRASER. The dust wrapper is in near fine condition with no loss or tears, but with a hint of fading to the spine.
