1965. First edition limited to 50 numbered copies of which this is No. 26. Unpaginated but 11pp. John Talbot White (1925-1983) was a British lecturer, naturalist, and writer. He was known for his contributions to The Guardian's Country Diary and for his books about the topography and natural history of South East England. This is a collection of seven poems, and is an example of the use of Gill Perpetua type by the printer (Alan Anderson). The book is bound in the original plain white card covers with a marbled paper wrapper by Douglas Cockerell and white paper title label on the front of the wrapper. The book is in very good condition and the contents are secure and clean with a few faint foxing marks. The name E.B. Basden and the date 24.4.1965 has been written on the front free endpaper (Eric Bernard Basden (1913-1984) was a book collector, bibliographer and antiquary). Tipped-in on the spine of the front free endpaper is a signed handwritten letter to Basden from the printer, Alan Anderson. The unclipped wrapper is very good with light shelf wear and is in an easily removed clear plastic cover.
