Price of 16s on the DJ is NOT clipped with DJ nicely preserved in archival wraps. Presentation copy Signed by both Perles (green ink) and Miller (blue ink) on card stock pasted on the front free end page. First edition points include blue cloth hardcover boards with gilt lettering; illustrated with 10 pages of intimate photographs of Miller. Ref. B85a of Shifreen & Jackson bibliography. Very uncommon. DJ with heavy wear with tears to the edges and 1-inch chip taken from the front panel. Heavy toning to the boards with foxing to the page edges and end pages; heavy toning to the end pages. Alfred Perlès (1897–1990) was an Austrian writer (in later life a British citizen), who was most famous for his associations with Henry Miller, Lawrence Durrell, and Anaïs Nin.
