Add to basketPresumed first edition/printing. George Abbe (1911-1989) was a notable American writer of novels, plays, non-fiction and poetry. This book appears to be very uncommon. There are copies available in various libraries (WorldCat lists 82) but as far as I can determine, there are no copies available for sale on-line. This copy is warmly inscribed on the ffep "for [difficult to decipher first name, could be Dave] and Roger. close relatives of that wonderful Cushing family, who help to keep alive and sparkling those springs of eternal youth.) and SIGNED and dated (6/1/'68) by the author. Laid in is a typed letter, signed, which solicits interest in his new work "Shatter the Day", a play which attacks "vivisection and war". Also laid in is one page typed listing of READINGS AND LECTURES BY GEORGE ABBE.The book is near fine in a very good dustjacket with light wear including a closed tear to upper left of front panel.(shelf).
