About this Item

From the estate of Norman Hazell. Norman Hazell was a notable figure in local politics, serving as a councillor for Wakefield South and leading the Tory opposition group for eight years. He also ran for Parliamentary seats in Wakefield and Hemsworth during the 1980s and 1996, respectively. After leaving the Tory party in 2001, he continued as an independent councillor until 2006 and was awarded the MBE in 1988 for his community service. In his personal life, he enjoyed collecting books and corresponding with authors to obtain signed labels, along with related newspaper articles. Letter from Cope on House Commons paper together with the accompanying envelope pasted on the endpapers. Cope's signature on a House of Commons compliment slip pasted on the half title page. House of Commons compliment slip inscribed "With best wishes John Cope" loose in the book. The book is tightly bound, appears to be unread, clean and bright throughout. The dust jacket is complete with only minor shelf wear; unclipped; showing �10.
