Purple dust jacket well rubbed; front flap retains publisher's printed price at top right; dj presented in an older mylar Demco protector. Maroon cloth with vibrant gilt stamped lettering to spine. Author's six-line purple ink inscription "To Edward + Louise | Hope | with appreciation, | Much Joy! | Ruby Dee | '87" on front free endpaper; inscription's purple ink does have some smudging onto dj front flap and front pastedown; interior pages are otherwise clean. Binding retains some crispness. With Preface, Introduction, concluding autobiographical essay, and four parts: "Rooby Goose," "Short Shorts," "Poems Perhaps," and "Salutes.".
