About this Item
This volume about George Constant's art is from the Contemporary Artist Series, edited by Basil J. Vlavianos. There is an Introduction by Margaret Breuning, and a Biographical Sketch by Georgette Preston. This volume contains both black-and-white images, as well as, color reproductions of the artist's work. Included in this sale is a handwritten note from the artist attached with a staple to the prospectus for the book. A total of 2000 copies of the book were printed, this is #358 which also includes a signed limited edition print, 1/100. The dust jacket is soiled, has a few minor tears, and some paper loss. The black boards are clean and the tips sharp, however, there is some edge wear, color loss at the base of the spine. There is also a small brown spot on the leaf edges through plate 14, however, none of the text or images are affected. There also appears to be the beginning of some light foxing on the top edge.
