This "Andy" is Harvard mathematician Andrew Mattei Gleason, best known for his work on Hilbert's fifth problem. xliii, 624, [2] pp. Original brown cloth with white spine lettering. Fine in Near Fine jacket with tiny stain on back panel. A rare signature from mathematician and philosopher Gian-Carlo Rota (1932-1999), a distinguished MIT Professor in those fields.
