Add to basketOctavo, 238pp. A very good copy in the publisher's brown cloth, nicked at the crown, and rubbed along the far extremities (normal for this title). In a good or better dust jacket, with a stain on the rear panel and mild general creasing, but no large chips. One thin, long crease along the front spine joint. A wonderful copy, SIGNED and lengthily INSCRIBED by McCloy on a front blank: "For Walter Shirley, with kindest regards, Helen McCloy. P. S. Of all my books, this is my own favorite. December 6, 1980." "Through a Glass, Darkly" is the eighth "Basil Willing" novel, and probably the most successful. The story is an eerie and disquieting exploration of the doppelganger. Very uncommon signed, and especially with such a pleasing inscription. Keating ("Whodunit?"), p. 201 (seven stars in all categories).
