Privately published by the author. 1985. Slim volume with soft wraps and stapled binding. The text block is not attached to the wraps as was intended. 24 ps. Signed by the author with dedication to the title page. There is also a typed letter from the author loosely laid in and addressed to the same couple as the dedication. The letter thanks them for their recent hospitality and is dated 1985. There are some lovely black and white illustrations to accompany the verse but there is no illustrator mentioned so i8t may be the work of the author. No copy of this could be found anywhere online Gnomic poetry consists of meaningful sayings put into verse to aid the memory. They were known by the Greeks as gnomes, from the Greek word for "an opinion". Neoteric poets deliberately turned away from classical Homeric epic poetry. Rather than focusing on the feats of ancient heroes and gods, they propagated a new style of poetry through stories that operated on a smaller scale in themes and setting.
