Signed on the front free endpaper by the author and inscribed to Violet together with the opening notes of "Happy birthday to you" in manuscript on a musical stave. Red, cloth-covered boards with gilt lettering to the spine. Minor wear only to the book; the dust jacket has general wear but is not price-clipped and is now protected by a clear, removable cover. The author is better known as a composer, writing sings such as "Spread a Little Happiness" and the musical "Bless the Bride".
