Legendary Jayhawk sports broadcaster Max Falkenstien saw it all in his 60 years of broadcasting the University of Kansas sporting events. Max began his career as a high school junior in the early 1940s. Between 1946 and 2006, Max was behind the microphone for more than 1,750 KU basketball games and 600 KU football games. The Name Max Falkenstien has become synonymous with Kansas Athletics. "A Good Place to Stop" is the sequel to "Max and the Jayhawks"- a compilation of Max's first 50 years of broadcasting. About the Author

Max Falkenstien spent 60 years behind the microphone callng University of Kansas football and basketball games before retiring at the end of the 2005-06 basketball season. His career included Final Fours in basketball, including national championships in 1952 and 1988, plus Jayhawk football appearances in major bowl games.
