Norcross / this special copy / of / Great Historic Animals [printed] / with the author's best wishes / Ernest Thompson Seton / 28 Sep 1943 / paw print / illustration of small bear / Johnnie. Wonderful association copy; Norcross, a native of Massachusetts established the Norcross Wildlife Sanctuary in 1939 and was an active sportsman and participating sponsor of several Arctic expeditions. Seton inscriptions are seldom encountered and very rarely include an original illustration.
