Maurice Walsh (2 May 1879-18 February 1964) was an Irish novelist, now best known for his short story "The Quiet Man", later made into the Oscar-winning film The Quiet Man, directed by John Ford and starring John Wayne and Maureen O'Hara. He was one of Ireland's best-selling authors in the 1930s. The short story "The Quiet Man" first appeared in this book Green Rushes. This Rare First edition third printing in green cloth covered boards with gilt lettering on a sunned spine is SIGNED by the author Maurice Walsh of the ffep. It also bears the signature of his brother to whom it was gifted on 14th September 1936. There are no other pen marks or inscriptions. The book is bright with strong binding. A little foxing on the title page. Corners bumped and shelf wear to spine ends. There is no dust jacket. Please examine all seller photos.
