About this Item

Jean Giono's first book to apear in English and winner of the Prix Brentano. Translated from French with an Introduction by Jacques Le Clerq. Inscribed, signed, and dated 1930 by Jacques Le Clerq. The translator has corrected "dream" in the next to last line of the book to "drum." Very good book bound in quarter cloth with pictorial spine. The pictorial dust jacket is spine darkened and quite worn with some chips, tears, a piece missing from the spine, some tape mend on the reverse, but still quite presentable looking with an archival mylar cover. A scarce book and possibly unique with the translator's inscription. See photos.
