Extremely rare to find in the dustwrapper. With 9 maps. Vol I is the Second Edition in olive green cloth with gilt to spine and debossed title to front board. Minor foxing to page edges, pages clean throughout. The wrapper is a little rubbed with some darkening to extremities and some nicks and minor loss to corners. This volume has a 2.5cm hole open tear to base of the spine, though the paper has been retained and reinserted with a backing of archival tape. It presents well. Panels remain bright and clean. This volume comes with a letter dated June 1947 from members of the congregation of St Dominic's Church Choir, Stone, to Mr William Arthur Howse, who was organist at the church for seven years. It is signed by 15 members of the church. Volume 2 is the first edition, dated 1927, and is in similar condition to the first, though with no open tear to the base of the spine. This has 15 maps and is very clean throughout, with some foxing to fore-edge, as per Vol I.
