The inscribee's name, Dick Noice, is neatly printed to the upper edge of the front end-paper. Bountifully illustrated with more than three-hundred striking, annotated historic photographs. A well-documented, definitive history of the area that became Hollywood, from it first residents, the Gabrielino Indians through 1979, including ranches, ostrich farms, railroads, theater, hotels, schools, film industry, studios, stars, attracting tourism, television, radio, the 1929 crash, culture, events, and more. Upper spine end bumped, former owner's name (the inscribee) to the upper edge of the front end-paper, else nearly fine in imitation red-burgundy leather with gilt embossed titles to the front cover and to the spine, red-and-yellow headband and tail-band; in a near fine dust jacket with some fading to the spine panel, and a tiny tear and minor crimp-creases to the upper spine edge area.
