Original 1896 1st edition of Kemp's "A Handbook of Rocks, For Use Without the Microscope. With a Glossary of The Names of Rocks and of Other Lithological Terms." The book is in generally good condition with some signs of wear and age. It is signed by Kemp on the title page and inscribed by him to the American mineralogist & author Lea McIlvaine Luquer [Dr. L. Mc. I. Luquer]. The covers have some mild wear. There is cracking to the interior hinges, but the binding is sound. The front free endpaper is no longer present. The interior is mostly nice and clean, though there may be the occasional page with a light bit of foxing, grubbiness, or some kind of other minor imperfection. The book measures approximately 9 1/2 inches by 6 1/4 inches and is 176 pages long. Please look at all of the photos to further note the condition.
