The book is inscribed by Amies to Paul Miles. Loosely inserted are two Christmas cards from Amies. The card from 1986 features a trompe-l'oeil design by Marcus Williams. The card from 1987 contains a pasted-in original colour photograph of Amie's house and garden, The Old School at Langford.
