First trade edition in cloth boards with vignette pasted onto front board.With twenty miniatures tipped in. All present. Presentation copy signed by the author/illustrator on the half-title page: 'Clara Evelyn with love from Herbert Bedford Christmas 1920'. No date, though British Library states 1914. Herbert Bedford was also a notable composer. The book is sunned to the spine. Inside, patterned endpapers. Inside, there is a tear to the margin of the frontispiece. Archival tape on verso. Clean copy.
