London: Heinemann, 1968. First Edition. Octavo (25 cm); [xii] with double page map, 179pp. Publisher's pictorial dust jacket with author photo at back flap and price-clipped. Boards full bound in pear green cloth with gilt stamping. Chartreuse green endsheets. Green top stain. All 27 illustrations present. Jacket generally scuffed and toned with rubbing to all margins and spine ends; spine has some lifting; verso toned, spine most of all. Board corners and spine ends bumped with cloth water stained at head of spine and back top margin and shelf wear. Spots to front endsheets but overall pages clean. A Very Good copy in like dust jacket. Signed by Colin Thubron on the first free endsheet with inscription to his godson, Giles. The second book by the travel writer and novelist, detailing his journey through pre-civil war Lebanon in lyric prose and photographs. Seller Inventory # 30579
