First edition (hardback). 8vo (22cm by 14cm), xvi, 523pp. 60 plates. Original red cloth, gilt titling to the front board and the spine. There is a 1cm split to the head of the spine, the top edge of the text block is dusty, and the endpapers are foxed; overall, the book is in good condition. Signed by the author on the title page.
