In the publisher's original paper covered boards.Inscribed by the author, "Chas. H. Crouch. From the author, June 1900."A detailed historical account of the three Royal Exchanges of London (1566, 1669 and 1844), charting their foundation, destruction and rebuilding. The volume also chronicles the history and purpose of the Gresham Lectures and Gresham Almshouses, originally endowed under the will of Sir Thomas Gresham to provide public education and charitable support. In the publisher's original paper covered boards. Externally, generally smart. Slight rubbing and bumping to extremities resulting in slight loss to paper, more so to head of spine. The dd minor handling mark to boards. Slight rubbing and discolouration to boards. Royal Exchange bookplate to front paste down. Author's presentation inscription to front free endpaper. Slight offsetting and the odd spot to endpapers. Internally, firmly bound. Hinges strained in places, but firm. Pages bright and clean with the odd spot to first and last few leaves. Very Good. …
