Signed by Jan Smuts and dated on the first front free endpaper: "J.C. Smuts/ 11 Mei 1927/ Stellenbosch". The book is in very good condition. Bright gilt title on clean blue spine. Bright blue cloth. Outer leaves and edges somewhat foxed. Otherwise clean with tight binding. The name of the first owner is on a different second front free endpaper. In a tatty dust jacket that is not price clipped ( 18 shillings net ) but has chips and repaired tears; dust jacket now neatly laminated on both sides.
