The World Publishing Company, Cleveland and New York, "Tower Books Motion Picture Edition, First Printing August 1946". Signed by the author on the first free endpage. Craig Rice was the Nom de Plume of Georgiana Randolph Craig(1908-1957). Described as the "Dorothy Parker of detective fiction," Craig combined hard-boiled mystery with screwball comedy, the perfect combination for this motion picture adaptation. Though this is the motion picture edition, it is not a "photo-play" edition. Wear and browning to pages with some tears. Good- Craig died of an alcohol and barbiturate overdose. Very scarce signed copy.
