The author coveys in the note that Lt. Andrew J. McMonigle who's listed on the dedication page was his grandfather & that he grew up on stories of the 38th and that the other dedication is to his son whom was named Andrew namesake, Andy Funk, who travelled with him on his research. THIRD ITEM is a xerox copy of a review for the book Man edited by Catherine H. Vanderslice which was reviewed by Robert D. Hoffsommer. This review discusses the author, Arville Funk's book & states that Funk emblishes his account with officer's reports, general orders, and participant's letters. In comparison, this time the history of the 38th Indiana narative is moving more smoothly.not good for our author of this book! Remember, this is just one man's opinion.…
