"First Baronet edition April 1979" on the copyright page, and boldly flat signed (no inscription) by Orson Scott Card on its half-title page in November 2003. This book is unread, in near fine condition, marred only by a short shallow crease in the top corner of the front cover. Binding is tight and square, with no reading crease in the spine. Covers are unfaded, unmarked and otherwise unworn. Pages are unmarked and unworn. Not a remainder. As with all Space Age Book purchases, I will ship this book in a moisture proof zip-loc bag, padded in bubble wrap, inside a sturdy box to assure it reaches its proud new owner in the same condition as my description.

About the Author

Orson Scott Card is a winner of multiple Hugo and Nebula awards for short fiction and novels. His novel, Ender’s Game, is considered one of the classics of the genre and is currently being developed for film. Along with subsequent novels in the Ender’s series (Speaker for the Dead, Xenocide, Children of the Mind, and Ender’s Shadow), Card is also the author of the contemporary novels Lost Boys, Treasure Box, Homebody; The Homecoming Saga, including The Memory of Earth, The Call of Earth, The Ships of Earth, Earthfall, and Earthborn; an alternate history novel, Pastwatch: The Redemption of Christopher Columbus; and the American fantasy series The Tales of Alvin Maker: Seventh Son, Red Prophet, Prentice Alvin, Alvin Journeyman, and Heartfire.

A respected playwright, Card has seen a dozen of his plays produced in regional theater. He has also taught writing courses at several universities and workshops, including, most recently, a novel-writing course at Pepperdine.

Card currently lives in Greensboro, North Carolina, with his wife and five children.

All shipments will be via US Postal Service unless requested otherwise. Standard shipping within the USA will be via USPS Media Mail. Priority shipping within the USA will be via USPS First Class Mail.
My current Standard shipping rate within the USA is US$4.00 for the first book, and US$2.00 for additional books in the same order.
There are two situations where I will refund to the buyer a portion of the postage charged by ABEBOOKS: (1) Separate orders placed on the same date for shipment to the same address will be shipped together, so I will refund half of the postage paid for the first book in each such second and subsequent order. And (2) Books described as "paperbacks" in my descriptions weigh less than other books, so I will refund US$1.00 of the paid shipping fee for the 2nd and subsequent paperbacks in the same order shipping to the same address.
