Synopsis

About the Author

Patricia Henley spent five months traveling in Central America and southern Mexico, interviewing refugees, activists, and Indian women while writing Hummingbird House. She has published two collections of stories, Friday night at Silver Star and The Secret of Cartwheels and a book of poems, Back Roads. Her stories have been anthologized in Best American Short Stories and The Pushcart Prize Anthology. She teaches in the MFA program at Purdue. This is her first novel. A portion of the author's royalties will be donated in support of human rights worldwide.
