Robert Foran (1881-1968) was a world traveler, adventurer and big game hunter who arrived in East Africa in 1904 and spent the bulk of his 87 years there. With a Forword by Captain C.R.S. Pitman, Game Warden of Uganda, author and a first class herpetologist. This book is presented by the author to C.R.S. Pitman during Christmas 1961, and in turn Mr. Pitman presented it to his nephew with inscription pasted on part of a greeting card, underneath Foran s note and signature on the sub title page, Pitman humorously adding to ignore Foran s insert (see images). A rare Association Copy, one of its kind, bound in olive green cloth over boards with faded spine and top front, thetext is clean and tight. First edition, illustrated with photographs, and inscribed & signed by both the author and by C.R.S. Pitman who penned the Foreword for the book. Seller Inventory # 13032018-1
