(B&W photographs) INSCRIBED and SIGNED by the author on the half-title page, to noted film historian Rudy Behlmer. A detailed appreciation and chronicle of the work of Polito, who entered the movie business in 1912 and went on to become one of Warner Bros.' top cameramen during the 1930s and 1940s. (Among his credits were: I AM A FUGITIVE FROM A CHAIN GANG; 42nd STREET; THE ADVENTURES OF ROBIN HOOD; CONFESSIONS OF A NAZI SPY; THE SEA HAWK; NOW, VOYAGER; and SORRY, WRONG NUMBER.) Includes an extensive annotated filmography, and also incorporates "a historical survey of cinematography and of the Warner Brothers studio up to 1949."
