First edition. Octavo. Some highlighing throughout (see below) else about fine in lightly tanned and modestly worn, very good dust jacket with a few tiny specks of white paint on the cover panel. (As this book came from the library of Tony Award-winning actress Marian Seldes, we believe the inscription was a slip of the pen by Brandes; Marian Seldes' father's middle name is Vivian. Review
"A reconstruction of an important chapter in the Jewish self-liberation movement. . . . Not only calls attention to a forgotten development which led Jews to the soil but was part of a greater task to end the seclusions into which Jews hemmed in and to emerge as self-respecting citizens in a new environment."—Jewish News
