First edition. 227pp. Mustard boards backed with blue quarter cloth; blind-embossed motif to front board; silver spine titles; dust jacket. Some foxing to deckled fore-edge; faint foxing to endpapers; Very good in a price-clipped jacket, with two vertical creases to rear flap, light rubbing. The 14th entry in the Lew Archer series of hardboiled mystery novels by Ross Macdonald, the primary pseudonym of American-Canadian writer Kenneth Millar (1915-1983). This copy signed by Millar (as Macdonald) at the front free endpaper.

Shipping terms
All books ship free with tracking to domestic addresses via USPS Media Mail. In most cases, delivery takes place within a three to ten day window, although the vicissitudes of USPS may apply. Unless otherwise requested, expedited domestic purchases ship via USPS Priority Mail; overseas orders via USPS First Class International. Heavy or oversized books may incur additional shipping charges, as may books shipped to overseas destinations. Any additional charges required will be communicated promptly.
We take safe shipping very seriously; all of our books are packaged in new cardboard boxes amply cushioned with biodegradable packing peanuts. Pamphlets and other flat materials items are ocassionally shipped in bubble-mailers with internal cardboard supports. All books with dust jackets are fitted with brand new archival protectors prior to shipping.
