Illustrated with b&w photographs and endpaper constellation maps. Very good, first edition book in very good dust jacket. Inscribed by the author on the half title-page. Dark blue cloth covered boards, red label background with silver gilt lettering on spine. Boards are clean. Edges at head and tail of spine are crimped, corners rubbed through with the barest of fraying. Fore-edge corners tips are just rubbed through. Several shallow bumps along upper and lower board edges and small bump on back upper fore-edge corner. Minimal age-toning to external edges and text pages. Internally clean and with snug text block. Dust jacket is scuffed overall, with several rubs across center of front panel and the author's photo on the back panel. All folds are creased and rubbed and with several open and closed tears, including: Back corner at head of jacket spine has a 1 1/2" vertical closed tear with two adjacent 3/8" horizontal tears; back corner at tail of jacket spine has a 1" closed tear with adjacent rubs and creases; 1 1/8" at the lower corner of front fore-edge fold; upper corner of back corner has 3/8" by 1/4" loss with adjacent 1/2" vertical closed tear; 3/4" closed vertical tear near the upper left front spine corner; several vertical closed tears of up to 1/2" along the upper and lower edges of front and back panels. Upper right fore-edge corner on front panel is rubbed with loss of 1/4/" by 1/2". Upper edges of front and back panels and lower edge of front panel have numerous chips, diagonal and horizontal creases. Not price clipped.
