Fine first printing in fine dust wrapper. There were up to 5 or 6 variants of this publication all issued with a full number string but with different end papers and signed in different ways. This is one of the Independent Bookshop editions with page edges sprayed blue and is signed by the author to the designated front free end paper. The front paste down bears a map of the Mississippi river highlighting areas where key events in the book are located. The front free end paper is decorated with a fish pattern. This pattern is repeated to the rear end papers. The front panel of the dust wrapper bears the legend 'SIGNED INDEPENDENT BOOKSHOP EDITION' to the top edge.
