Janes's Junior Year: a Time of Change-- Book 4 of 5 (signed)

The two couples, Jane and Mike and Mindy and Joe, face a different world this year. The successful football team has a new coach. He tries to change everything. In addition, Joe injures his wrist, and Jane helps mend it with her mental power. From that discovery, she realizes God wants her to be a doctor. Their youth group becomes the focal point of their lives. One of the new members, Marty, has a problem which involves Jane s help. The group expands to four couples, now including Amy and Terry, along with Marty and Benny. The most unusual event is Jane s trip to a student medical conference in Kyoto, Japan where she makes new friends and expands her witness. Above all, the deepening love between Jane and Mike brings them closer to their parents. Gran McConnell continues to surprise them with extraordinary gifts. It is truly a time of change.

Richard King's long career in school and church music began when he was selected for Texas All-State Choir in 1957. He was awarded bachelor and master s degrees in Music Education (from what is now University of North Texas) after which he taught public school vocal music for eight years. In 1972, he entered full-time church music and youth ministries, which he had done part-time since college days. He continues in part-time music ministry. After seventeen years, he returned to teaching, this time moving into gifted and talented (GT) education. Eventually, he became the coordinator for the GT program in the Trinity, TX ISD for six years. During the remaining years of his teaching career, he taught GT English and began to write. His experiences with junior high and high school young people and his twenty-nine-year career in youth work in churches gave him the material he needed for his characters. During the youth ministry years, he took his young people on mission trips to several states. He has traveled to Brazil and Mexico as a participant in other mission endeavors, giving him a background of knowledge for his writing. In 2005, he retired from public school only to begin teaching music in the Angelina College Extension Department, which he currently enjoys. Other retirement benefits are: writing, golfing, and visiting his eight grandchildren, three of whom live in Japan, and trying to corral his two cats, Rocky and Patches. He also spends time as pianist in his local church as well as accompanying band and choir soloists in their UIL solo and ensemble competitions each year, something he has done for over thirty-five years.
