First Edition, First Printing; green c w/gilt titles; 255 clean, unmarked pages; A fascinating and carefully researched biography of the first botanist to seriously record the native plants of Scotland. In addition to a study of his tour of Scotland, and of the publication of 'Flora Scotica', there are chapters on Lightfoot's tours of Devon and Cornwall, and Wales. The book is enhanced by a fine biographical introduction, and a meticulous catalogue of the Lightfoot Herbarium, held at the Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew.
