First edition, first printing. Signed by Emma Wolf on the front free endpaper and inscribed "To Professor Abram S. Isaacs with my warm esteem and gratitude for your ever kind encouragement". Bound in publisher's original decorated cloth. Very Good with light lean to binding. Cloth spine-toned, lightly soiled and lightly worn. Front inner hinge stated and rear hinge exposed, pages toned. Wolf was the daughter of Jewish immigrants who settled in the San Francisco Bay area, offering a voice from a different facet of the Jewish experience in America, most commonly associated with Eastern European immigrants to the East Coast.
