SIGNED in ink on the front free endpaper as follows: ?Mitties Owen McDavid? with a correction in the same ink on p. 27. 4to. 27p. Decorated title page with a printer's device. Black and white replica of the earliest Jordan Arms without crest or motto, apparently the name referred to in the title. Blue cloth with silver letters on the front cover. Fore- and bottom edges untrimmed. Minor wear to extremities, cloth clean and bright, some silver flaked off, else very good to near fine with no internal markings. No dust jacket. This is the story of a Crusader knighted by Richard the Lion Hearted and given the family name Jordan. A DAR, Mittie Owen McDavid was born in Birmingham, Alabama, and was a descendant of Capt. James Scott (1732-99), who commanded a company in the Virginia line. She was an author, artist, historian, genealogist, and feature writer. She was also the co-author of Historic Homes of Alabama and the author of Princess Pocahontas (1907) and Church of the Advent, Its History and Traditions (1943). Seller Inventory # 008388
