SIGNED and inscribed by the author on the front end paper: "Best wishes, fourteen thousand seven hundred and ninety three of them, from Tom Wolfe". Bottom of volume spine a little pushed, else near fine. Rear flap of the jacket with a crease form a former fold, light edge wear at spine ends and along the bottom of the front panel. . A large, BOLD swirling Dr. Seuss-like signature in marker that Mr. Wolfe also partially colored with a colored yellow pencil. 1st issue DJ with $5.50 price intact on flap. Yellow topstain has a small scuff. White cloth with rust colored endpapers. Minor shelfwear along edges with a touch of edge toning. DJ shows light soiling, most faint staining and a small discolored chip at top of DJ front. Light wear to edges/corners.
