The Karla Trilogy: a Signed Three-Volume First Edition Set, comprising Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy, The Honourable Schoolboy, Smiley's People

An attractive and harmonious first edition, first printing set of le Carré's celebrated Karla Trilogy - comprising Tinker Tailor Solider Spy (1974), The Honourable Schoolboy (1977) and Smiley's People (1980). EACH IS SIGNED BY THE AUTHOR on a matching plate to the ffep. All three volumes are at least Near Fine, with crisp, clean pages. The crisp, unclipped dustwrappers are Very Good+ or better; each has a solitary closed tear of around 1cm, sealed to the verso with professional mending tissue. TTSS is Near Fine: firm and square binding in black boards; a trace of faint spotting to the edge of the page block; publisher's purple topstain, mostly faded. The unclipped dustwrapper (£2.95 net stated) is likewise Near Fine: lightly rubbed to the spine tips and corners; a touch of sunning to the spine, but far less than is typically seen. The Honourable Schoolboy (publisher's variant with black cloth and white endpapers) is Near Fine: tight and square binding; minor bump to the top corner; gently pushed to the heel of the spine; tiny spots to the top-edge of the page block. The Near Fine unclipped (and unpriced) dustwrapper is entirely free from fading; a small laminate bubble to the foot of the lower spine fold. Smiley's People is Fine: tight and square binding in sharp blue boards. The Very Good+ unclipped dustwrapper (£5.95) shows some fading to the spine and a touch of rubbing to the spine tips and one corner. The dustwrappers are presented in removable, archival-quality Brodart protective covers. All orders are sent very carefully wrapped in bubble wrap and sturdy cardboard. PLEASE NOTE that this is a heavy set and will incur an additional charge (at cost) to ship outside the UK (our free international shipping offer is based upon an item weight of up to 1kg). …
