First edition hard back binding in publisher's original deep navy cloth covered boards, blocked and lettered green back, gilt titles to the front board. 8vo. 7½'' x 5''. Contains frontispiece, (x), 309 pp with figures and monochrome photographs throughout, fold-out map to the rear. SIGNED by the author to the front free end paper 'To S. G. Lumiss? Esq., with the Author's Compliments and thanks, January 1920'. Also inserted Christmas card from the author's private residence in Dover, dated 1912-13 with a rare photograph of Snowdon Colliery and its miners. Also inserted is a letter from F. Phewell? to the author dated 20th December 1927. Rubbing to the corners and in Very Good condition. Member of the P.B.F.A. MINING & GEOLOGY.
