Knowledge and Practice in Mayotte: Local Discourses of Islam, Sorcery and Spirit Possession (Anthropological Horizons)

On the East African island of Mayotte, Islam co-exists with two other systems of understanding and interpreting the world around its inhabitants: cosmology and spirit-mediumship.
