An association copy from the author. Inscribed "With Regards From The Author." This First Edition is seldom seen and difficult to obtain, with no other copies available for sale. This is an inscribed association copy of the already unobtainable First Edition from the author. This is the original binding, approaching 200 years old. Book has generalized usage wear. In extremely good condition for being almost 200 years old. The upper spine appears to have old restoration. Binding has generalized usage wear. Inscription page has wear and marginal wear as shown in the picture. The internal hinge appears to have old restoration, but the condition appears set and sound. Book is highly presentable. Bound in a gorgeous full calf leather binding. Printed on quality paper. In Good condition. Inscribed by the author, and unobtainable. Rare. Josiah Conder (17 September 1789 ΓΆΒ Β" 27 December 1855), correspondent of Robert Southey and well-connected to Romantic authors of his day, was editor of the British literary magazine The Eclectic Review, the Nonconformist and abolitionist newspaper The Patriot, the author of romantic verses, poetry, and many popular hymns that survive to this day. His most ambitious non-fiction work was the thirty-volume worldwide geographical tome The Modern Traveller; and his best-selling compilation book The Congregational Hymn Book.
