CONTENTS DESCRIPTION: Given the name "Standing Bear" by Sioux Chief Sitting Bull after his capture at age 19, Frank Grouard would later use his years of intimate knowledge of the Sioux to become the most celebrated and invaluable scout for General Crook in the Great Sioux War of 1876-77.
