Text in English and French, consisting of a preface ('Explanation') by Laura Riding, followed by ten poems by Riding (each in English and French), and with ten full-page illustrations by John Aldridge (engraved on wood by R. J. Beedham)52 pp. Tall 4to. Laura Riding, poet, critic, short-story writer, and novelist, was born in 1901, in New York, to Jewish, Socialist parents. Riding and Robert Graves founded the Seizin Press in 1927. Covers are lightly bumped at tips of corners (as usual, due to large format), with light foxing on half-title and title page, else a near fine copy (printed text and illustrations are otherwise fresh and clean) With Ten Illustrations by John Aldridge.
