[Adams, THE RAMPAGING HERD, 966.] SIGNED AND INSCRIBED by J. Evetts Haley on the half-title page to Harry Darby, a prominent Kansas City industrialist and the former U.S. Senator from Kansas: "For Harry Darby[,] rugged and distinguished American and esteemed friend of J. Evetts Haley August 5, 1955". With Darby's distinctive book plate opposite the half-title page. Publisher's illustrated slipcase is worn on edges and corners, with small strips of outer card board missing at bottom front edge and rear top corner. J. Frank Dobie described LIFE ON THE TEXAS RANGE as ". . . easily the finest range book in the realm of the pictorial ever published". Seller Inventory # 2743
